When it comes to the most sweeping healthcare legislation in decades – the Affordable Care Act – we are choosing to play.

“We believe we can leverage the additional expenses and also offer added benefits to the associates we hire,” said Larry Roepke, Chief Financial Officer. “We have decided it is a better strategy to buy insurance coverage to comply with the law than to pay penalties with no benefits at all.”

Through close monitoring of ACA mandates and working with industry experts, our goal has always been to meet or exceed the expectations of the law.

In 2015, Associated Staffing offered our associates a Minimum Value Plan (MVP) as well as a few supplemental plans. Beginning in 2016, our associates will have additional benefit options, including preventative insurance covered by Associated Staffing with the options to upgrade coverage and add supplemental insurances.

“These new plans will allow the associates to pick and choose which coverages work best to create their own customized benefits program that will best meets the needs of their families,” Roepke said. “We reviewed numerous plans and strategies to determine what programs will best meet the needs of our clients as well as our associates.”

With this customized insurance program come obvious benefits to our associates, but our clients also benefit from our associate healthcare offerings.

“Our clients will see that the free insurance and additional insurance options will help our associates feel more satisfied with their job, which will translate into a more motivated workforce for them,” Roepke said.
