Using the Search Page
To perform your job search, follow the steps below.
1. Select your search criteria by job category or keyword. You may also search by all or any combination of available fields. To select multiple values in the Job Category field, hold down the control key (Win) or the command key (Mac) while selecting.
2. Choose the Search button to search for jobs or the Reset button to start a new job search. After you choose Search, the Associated Staffing Job Search displays the results of your search on the Summary page.
Each field available on the Search page is described below:
|
Job Category Choose a job category or function. For example, Marketing Manager or Sales Clerk.
Job categories are broad segments of job listings based on the job function.

Keyword You can enter keywords in your job search criteria that describe the job you are looking for. The search engine will identify all the jobs in the database that include your keywords in the job title or the job description. This can be a highly effective way to pinpoint the jobs that match your skills and experience.
You can use the keyword search to streamline your job search. The way you use keywords will determine the scope of your job search:
If you type in insurance agent, (note the words are separated by a space), the search engine will find all jobs that include the phrase "insurance agent".
If you type in insurance, agent (note the words are separated by a comma), and select the "Find jobs which meet ALL of my keywords" option, the search engine will find all jobs that include BOTH the words insurance AND agent, but not necessarily as a single phrase.
If you type in insurance, agent (note, the words are separated by a comma), and select the "Find jobs which meet ANY of my keywords" option, the search engine will find all jobs that include EITHER the words insurance OR agent.
We use a full text indexing system so that the search engine can find word roots to cover the variations in the words used in the job descriptions. For example a keyword search on insurance age will find jobs that include the phrases "insurance agent" and "insurance agency".
Searches are NOT case sensitive -- the words will be found in the jobs whether you type the words in upper case or lower case.

The Search Results page displays the results of your job search. To view individual job listings, click on a job title to view a specific listing from the list. You can also perform a keyword search by entering one or more keywords (using AND, OR, or 'a phrase in single quotes') in the Keyword box then clicking the Go button.
Using the Summary Page
The Job Summary page displays information about each job listing as well as the complete text of each job listing that is posted by employers. To view job listings, simply page through them in order. You can also follow a link within each job listing to view the original listing on an employer's web site. |
