Building Our Business and Our Communities

Giving back to the communities where we live and work is important to us. Just as we value the relationships we have built with our clients and candidates through our light industrial, clerical and professional staffing services, we value our partnerships in the communities we serve.

We understand the importance of a strong community and do our best to contribute as often as possible—our staff volunteers with many non-profit organizations or events. From serving on boards to volunteering at shelters, we serve a diverse list of non-profit organizations throughout Nebraska. In addition to volunteering our time, our staff is committed financially to many community organizations.

Associated Staffing places so much value on building up the communities we live in that we offer our employees 8 hours of volunteer time off (VTO) per year. Our employees use this time on the clock to assist at their favorite non-profit organization. This program has helped our employees find ways to give back to their community.

How Associated Staffing Got Started

After working many years in the corporate world, founder Brian McMahon was ready for his own business. He wanted the flexibility that comes with being a business owner – even if the responsibility meant more work. He wanted the American Dream. After looking at several businesses over three years, Brian purchased Associated Staffing in 1995. The company has grown in reach and service offerings since its beginning as job recruiters in Nebraska and are now recognized as one of the reputable staffing, recruiting and executive search firms in Nebraska. Today, we are able to compete with staffing, recruiting and executive search firms in Nebraska.

Our History

Here’s a look back at how Associated Staffing got to where it is today:

2023

Awarded Best of Kearney 2023, Best of Columbus 2023 and Best of Grand Island 2023.

2022

Awarded Best of Kearney 2022 and Best of Columbus 2022. We moved our Hastings location to a larger office at 1017 West 2nd Street to accommodate our continuing growth.

2021

Awarded Best of Kearney 2021 and Best of Grand Island 2021.

2020

Awarded Best of Kearney 2020 and Best of Grand Island 2020.

2018

Awarded Best of Grand Island 2018. Our Kearney office relocated to 711 E 25th Street and our Omaha office to 5104 L Street to keep up with the growing demand at these locations.

2016

Honored with the American Staffing Association Care Award, recognizing our corporate social responsibility initiatives.

2011, 2014 & 2022

Awarded Sower Award for Workplace Wellness.

2009

We moved our Grand Island and Corporate offices to our current location at 820 North Webb Road to accommodate our growing business.

2008

Honored with Governor Heineman’s Workplace Wellness Award, Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award and placed third in the Staffing Industry Review Magazine for Customer Service.

2007

Our Columbus office opened its doors in May 2007 at 915 23rd Street, Suite 400.

2006

Awarded Honorable Mention from Staffing Industry Review Magazine for Customer Service.

2003

Associated Staffing acquired Best Temps, another staffing agency, to establish our Omaha office at 5012 L Street.

1999

We opened our Kearney location at 412 East 25th Street and our Professional Staffing Division. Brian McMahon was also honored in 1999 with an Entrepreneur of the Year award.

1998

With a rapidly expanding business, we moved our Grand Island location out of a house and into a larger office. That same year, we opened the doors to our bright orange Hastings office, residing there a few months before moving to 1023 W 2nd Street.

1995

Our first office opened in a house on the corner of College & Broadwell Street in Grand Island. It had two part-time employees and Brian McMahon as the full-time manager.
